A collection of love poems

Overworked, the end of love

via Daily Prompt: Overworked

my love has been

overworked

like a harvester

after a long yellow day,

somewhere between

sunrise and sunset

from the first timid light

until grey shadows fall,

it has laboured

on the corn rowed land

where the heat shimmers

and rises,

and in the dusted fields

that parch

the senses

and hope for rain,

there have been

no drops of water

no willowy branches

only still, heavy air

straining for breath,

my love has been

overworked

for too long a time,

it will toil

no more.

Exquisite love.

my love

for you

floats

like gentle petals,

fragrant

tender

sweet

and light,

for you are glorious

your heart

so pure

unblemished

beautiful,

you call to me

i answer you

i call to you

you answer me,

graceful

gentle

sound,

heart to heart

caressing

lovely

infinite

joy,

our

exquisite

love.

Exposure

via Daily Prompt: Exposure

laying bare my heart

in the palms

of your hands,

this is my gift to you.

revealing my dark

alongside

my light,

presenting my scars

releasing my pride,

showing my weakness

fragility

fear,

entrusting you with

my hopes

and my dreams,

giving you sway

over all that i have,

exposing my love.

Moss and crimson roses

just because

i love you

i will feed you

red ripe cherries

juicy with joy.

i will bring you

crimson roses

heady fragranced

scarlet scent

and give you

purply pressed grapes

from my

secret knotted vines.

i will drip

my yellowed honey

around your

hair in

milky moonlight

and will crush

the musty moss

’til it mingles

with the earth.

just because

you love me.
